We’re Elli and Lewy, an acoustic duo project from Adelaide, Australia called Woodfolk.

As all good rock and roll tales begin, we started on our musical journey together through a family band project. Whilst the band didn’t make it past Uncle Chris’ 60th Birthday shindig - Nanna is a diva, what can we say - we shared a mutual love of performing, crafting songs and creating unique covers, and so Woodfolk was born from the creative ashes.

Lewy is a beautifully skilled multi‑instrumentalist with many years of live performance experience with various bands. Self-taught on acoustic guitar, electric, banjo, keys, vocals and harmonica, Lewy uses live-looping to build rich layers of sound in real time. Elli, our lead vocalist, has always loved music and performing, growing up with stage and dance training, later refining her voice through years of vocal lessons, combining technical skill with the natural joy of live performance.

Weaving together the sentiment of all the music we grew up on, our Woodfolk muses range from Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Fleetwood Mac all the way through to Bon Iver, Caamp, Zach Bryan and Cat Clyde and we delight in finding thoughtful, unique ways to cover all the best songs, whilst writing our own originals too.

We will fit right in playing under the festoon lights in a vineyard, delivering the perfect wedding aisle moment, or filling a beer garden with delicious indie-folk tunes, bringing a warm, soulful sound with banjo breakdowns and foot-stompers punctuating either side of yearning folk ballads.

We are so excited to bring you the music we love for whichever moment you had in mind.
